Halloween keeps getting closer and closer, as I am continually reminded by the kids getting invited to Halloween related events (read: must have costume / big project for me). It is really just around the corner.
Anyway… this morning we woke up to a bag of candy on our doorstep. We got booed. “Booing” each other is an old Halloween tradition in our neighborhood. Basically someone starts it by preparing 2 bags of candy, notes, and ghost graphics and leaves it on the doorstep of two neighbors’ houses. The recipient is instructed to tape the ghost graphic on their front door to indicate that they had been booed and then repeat this action to two other houses so that eventually every kid in the neighborhood has a ghost on the door and a bag of candy in hand.
Now that we are booed – the ball is back in my court, and I have to prepare boo bags for our two recipients. Again – another project for me. ugh! I truly hope this is fun for the kids, because for me, not so much. I must get a better attitude.
Here’s the silver lining… seeing the ghost graphic inspired me to digitize a ghost for free machine embroidery design Monday. And hopefully some of you might find it useful to stitch out on a trick-or-treat bag or a Halloween t-shirt.
While this is a filled embroidery design, if you are looking for more Halloween appliqués – I have a set posted of simple and cute Halloween applique designs on my Etsy store.
