Free Machine Embroidery Design Monday: Pear Applique Design

Once again, Monday comes around and I have NO IDEA what I will post for the free machine embroidery design of the week. And then inspiration landed on my doorstep. I mean LITERALLY. The people at Boden must know how much I love their catalog because another copy of the Boden Kids catalog arrived yesterday which reminded me of how much inspiration I found in the last copy and provided me with an idea for a graphic to digitize this week: the pear.
Boden uses a lot of pears in their kids clothes, and i love it. The pear is so much less predictable than the ubiquitous apple. So why not digitize one?
I can imagine a pear applique being used not only on kids clothes, but also tea towels, and possibly other kitchen decor items. Check out these Scandinavian tea towels for some inspiration!
I digitized the applique design at a size just large enough to fit a 4″ x 4″ hoop. So – get out your scraps of funky fabric and make some cute kitchen towels. I might just do that myself. Enjoy.
By the way – if you have stitched out any of my previous free designs or any of the designs on my Etsy store – I would love to see how they turned out – send a picture my way! Thanks!
