Genuine fleur de lis appliqué design – stitched out and looking fantastic

I know, I know, I get it. There are a bazillion fleur de lis machine embroidery and appliqué designs out there. But indulge me for a minute. I have never created a fleur de lis appliqué design. And – it’s the real deal – inspired by the graphic on the bottom side of my coffee cup in France. So mine is legit.
Here’s why there are probably so many fleur de lis designs out there. It’s a great shape! It’s bold, simple and distinct which makes it ideal for machine embroidery and appliqué.
After digitizing the design, I test stitched it out and I think it turned out pretty great. I won’t reveal exactly what I am doing yet. However, when the recipient’s seven-year-old daughter saw the graphic on the window of my sewing machine, she asked “who is that for?” I asked her “why?” and she said: “my mom loves that symbol….” Well then she is going to LOVE her birthday present. I can hardly wait.

FWIW, this is also a symbol of Kappa Kappa Gamma (yes, I was a sorority girl!!) so if you ever have any friends whose daughters pledge etc this would be awesome. And I’m a little ashamed that I just brought that up! HAHAHA
