It’s inspiration Sunday and I’m inspired by monsters!

A couple of weeks ago I was received the Boden Kids catalog and was completely inspired. There were so many ADORABLE kids clothes that provided great ideas for items you could make – especially if you have an embroidery machine.
One of the items that stuck with me was a oversized monster face on a t-shirt. I went back to the web site to check it out. But now I can’t find it. JEEZ! Did I dream up this idea?
Anyway – based on the vision of this t-shirt I saw somewhere (I think Boden, but who knows)… I mocked up a design for an appliqué pillow that I might make with this fuzzy pink fabric I have in my sewing cabinet. The fuzzy pink fabric is a remnant from the pink kitty (yes – pink kitties – not my idea) costumes I made for my girls years ago. The design would have to be hooped three times to create the face at this large scale, but I am tempted by the potential to make a design that extends beyond the scope of the embroidery hoop. Plus, I think this might be a great Christmas gift for my little niece, Zoe. I could even add her name on the back in a monster typeface.
