If you are a regular reader of this blog – you have probably noticed that I travel quite a bit. Between my job at the university, the work I do for our family business and traveling for fun – I am usually gone at least once per month. So why do I have such a crappy, messy, overstuffed doppkit?

This is the question I asked myself while traveling in Tennessee last month when I could barely stuff my deodorant in with the rest of my toiletries. So while shopping at Marshalls a few weeks ago, I perused the ladies accessories and found a new cosmetic case that would give me more room – and – bonus – it could easily be monogrammed.

I have monogrammed cosmetic cases in the past.  It is a bit tricky positioning the case on the hoop and having it stay put.  But assuming you can get it to stick… you have a fantastic gift. And usually they have loads of them at Marshalls or TJ Maxx for less than $10. (Mine cost only $7.99)

So why did it take me so long to get one for myself?

Here is my finished product – looking super fab with my monogram typeface which I used for many of my monogrammed straw hats and would love to have on my Etsy store but I am still awaiting approval from the font designer.
