Peace sign triple stitch appliqué design

A couple weeks ago I digitized and embroidered a peace sign that I think turned out pretty well. I am sure this design will be pretty useful in the future, but I wanted to create a variation of the design that might be a bit lighter for thin fabrics like a t-shirt. So instead of a thick satin stitch around the edge, I brought the outlines in a bit and converted them to triple stitches.
When it came to stitching it onto the fabric I decided to work with a tie-dye style stretch fabric that my daughter picked out. For the peace sign I used one of my husband’s old t-shirts.
I think this stitched out quite well, in fact better than I expected. I was concerned about cutting out the holes within the peace sign after I had tacked it down onto the base fabric.
The resulting piece will be a t-shirt for my daughter, but I am so excited about how it turned out that I had to post a picture today.
