The boys in their fishbone skeleton appliqué t-shirts and other sewing news from my sister in Colorado

My sister is vacationing in Colorado this week. Every day she has sent me beautiful pictures of waterfalls and Colorado scenery… which is great, but…. Here’s what I want to know…  Have you found any great fabric stores in Colorado and what are you bringing me??? (I know I sound like my kids when I am on a trip).

Finally she texted me something about a fabric store in Durango. She was all excited because they had some great Western prints, so she picked up some fat quarters of the fabric that will be great for appliqué projects. (Now that she is such a fan of applique…) Hopefully she will share the wealth.

But my favorite moment from her trip so far was when she met up with her friends in Colorado, and gave them the gifts that she had embroidered from my designs. She made two fish skeleton T-shirts: one for my nephew, Wilson, and the other for his friend, Emmett. Don’t they make pretty handsome little models?

For their other friend, she appliqued one of our new, favorite, $7 Walmart tunics with my initial in flower applique design. They turned out pretty cute.

My sister has really taken to stitching out my designs. That actually reminds me that I forgot to share another one of her projects she made with my initial in flower appliqué design (see below).

Now that I have let her use all these designs, I’m hoping that something from Colorado comes back for me. We’ll see…

The "I" flower applique is one of my sister's favorite designs.
